For couples seeking marriage

A wedding is one of life’s great moments. It is a celebration of the relationship you share. We look forward to walking with you as you plan your special day.

We provide a beautiful setting for weddings. St Paul’s is a popular venue, providing an intimate and sacred space for this important ceremony.

The Church is open daily and we invite you to come and experience the beauty of our Church and surrounds. For all wedding enquiries, please contact our office on 9830 0729.

What happens at the wedding?

The priest welcomes everyone present.

There is a reading from the bible and a reflection on marriage followed by the consent and the vows.

The bride and groom promise to give themselves to each other, “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, so long as we both shall live”.

Wedding rings are blessed and exchanged as symbols of the vows and the commitment they make to each other

The priest blesses the married couple.

Prayers are offered for the couple and their future together by everyone present.

Marriage Preparation

Your relationship is special. We encourage all couples seeking marriage at St. Paul’s to undertake preparation for marriage.

 These programs encourage you to:

  • Explore and enhance your understanding of marriage and what will help your relationship to grow and flourish

  • Understand the different aspects of a fulfilling relationship, eg. Communication and how to deal with conflict.

  • Stay connected.

  • Keep romance alive in your relationship.

  • Develop common values and goals.

Wedding Fees

The fee is $1,650.  This includes the services of our vicar who discusses with you your plans and then prepares and conducts the service; a fee for staff to prepare the church, the cost of flowers, and the provision of music.

Organist and Music

The Parish has been gifted with a wonderful pipe organ, and we have a professional organist, Dylan Quinlan-Baskett.  We welcome soloists and other musical requests.

Music requests should be discussed with Dylan at least four weeks prior to the wedding.

Flowers

It is the couple’s responsibility to discuss flower arrangements with Barbara Alderton at least four weeks prior to the wedding.

Weddings are conducted by the Vicar. Pastors/Ministers of other denominations are welcome to assist in the service by preaching or saying prayers for the couple.

Remarriage

Whilst the ideal of marriage is a lifelong partnership, we recognise that relationships can break down.  The remarriage of divorced persons can be arranged at St. Paul’s.  All enquiries are treated with compassion and courtesy.
