Sunday School

When children are baptised we promise to teach, nurture and raise them in the faith of the church. We give thanks for the privilege of walking hand in hand with our children, teenagers and young adults who share the journey with us at St. Paul’s.

Sunday School happens during the first part of the 10.00 a.m. Sunday
Eucharist every week of school term. They leave Church after the Children’s Talk and return during the Greeting of Peace.

Children are welcome to attend Sunday School once they start going to
Kindergarten. This ensures that they are happy to be away from their
parents for a short time, and able to engage with the teachers, other
children, and the lesson.

The material taught at Sunday School has been developed especially for our church by our Family and Youth Minister, Kate Lord. The material is based on the lectionary, and follows a theme for each term. In 2012, the children will be learning about the Kingdom of God, and working on projects to help them understand various social justice issues for children.

Playgroup

The St. Paul's Playgroup allows you and your child to play in a stimulating environment, under your guidance.  It is a great opportunity to meet and form relationships with other parents, grandparents and carers.  Many of our Playgroup families go on to attend St. Paul’s Kindergarten.
A contribution of $3.00 per family per session is used to replenish consumable materials (such a paint and playdough) and to provide new toys.  In addition, we ask all families to join Playgroup Victoria, which provides many benefits including insurance for an annual fee of $25 per family ($15 for concession card holders).
We organise craft, music, stories and other activities for the children. You are asked to bring a piece of fruit for the children's morning tea.
Where: St Paul's Hall, cnr Highfield Road and Church Street, Canterbury.
When: Tuesday and Thursday mornings during school term – 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
For further information contact Kate on 9830 0729.

We hope you will enjoy your time at St. Paul’s Playgroup.
