Sunday Services at St Paul’s Anglican Church Canterbury

Sunday Services

8:00am Holy Communion

10:00am Sung Eucharist

  • Followed by a ‘cuppa’ in the Parish Centre
  • Including Sunday School during School Term

Kids In Services

These special services are run twice a term during a 10am service. Kids In Services are a fantastic way to introduce your little ones to church. On the day children are encouraged (but do not have to) take control of their faith experience and participate directly in service. Children have a ball ringing the bell, leading the intersessions (prayers), carrying the cross, reading from the bible, collecting donations and assisting Rev Susanne Chambers during the Thanksgiving (blessing the bread and wine). These services are designed with children in mind and have a Kids Talk, instead of a sermon, which interprets the bible for our little cherubs with songs, activities and real life examples.

Short, Sharp and Engaging, Kids In Services are a great way to bring God into the lives of every member of your family. Why not come along and find out more about what St Paul’s offers for you and your family? Contact the office for dates and more information.

Midweek Services

10:00am Wednesday Eucharist (which is followed by a ‘cuppa’ in the Parish Centre).

Worship at St Paul’s Anglican Church Canterbury

St Paul's Anglican Church Canterbury Sunday ServicesWorship is central to our life together. In worship we come to know God personally. It is here that we are shaped and nourished spiritually. We are committed to…

  • contemporary Anglican liturgy and worship, using A Prayer Book for Australia
  • careful preparation for all Services and liturgies
  • the systematic reading of the Scriptures by following the Lectionary
  • meaningful sermons and homilies where the Gospel of Salvation is preached faithfully and with love
  • a Children’s talk at the 10:00am Sunday Eucharist
  • a paid Director of Music and a high standard of music worship enriched with hymns, accompanied by our pipe organ and piano
  • the joy of singing, especially through the leadership and ministry of the choir
  • active lay participation

Guest Preaching at St Paul’s

St Paul’s loves welcoming guest preachers. These people, both ordained and lay (the rest of us), bring colour and vitality to our understanding of what it means to be a Christian in modern society.

During Lent 2018 we are hearing the Faith Stories of different members of our congregation. In Lent 1 we heard from Jonathan Chambers on what it means to him to fear exclusion, to be included and to find your way in the love of God.
