St Paul's Canterbury

On Wednesday mornings a group of 3-5 younger mothers meet fortnightly in their homes during school term for Bible Study and fellowship. They meet at 10am for coffee with the study beginning around 10.30 a.m. and finishing by noon. With common concerns and interests this group provides an important avenue for support and friendship. Children are welcome.

Caritas is an independent organisation within the framework of Mothers'
Union. We are a friendship group reaching out into the community. Our
membership consists of women both married and single, young and not so
young.

We usually have 5-6 speakers a year talking on varying topics both secular
and sacred, e.g. Aid work in Kosovo or Embroidery. We also cater for the
Men's Annual Dinner and help with catering at other Parish functions. We
have one social outing a year usually out to dinner.

The Friends of St Paul’s (formerly The Mother’s Union Group) was established in February 2000.

The aim of the Friends of St Paul’s is to…

· provide opportunities for friendship and community
· maintain the cradle roll i.e. cards which are sent to children who have been baptised
· offer hospitality and refreshments at funerals and other occasions

Ten meetings are held during the year. Most meetings are held in the Parish Centre on Thursdays, commencing at 1.30pm.

We have many interesting guest speakers and our activities are varied.

The St. Paul's Playgroup allows you and your child to play in a stimulating environment, under your guidance. It is a great opportunity to meet and form relationships with other parents, grandparents and carers. Many of our Playgroup families go on to attend St. Paul’s Kindergarten.
A contribution of $3.00 per family per session is used to replenish consumable materials (such a paint and playdough) and to provide new toys. In addition, we ask all families to join Playgroup Victoria, which provides many benefits including insurance for an annual fee of $25 per family ($15 for concession card holders).
We organise craft, music, stories and other activities for the children. You are asked to bring a piece of fruit for the children's morning tea.
