St Paul’s Anglican Church Canterbury is very happy to have the following dedicated people on our staff team.

Locum Priest – Rev Wendy Pullin

Wendy Pullin

Formerly a teacher, Wendy Pullin was ordained priest in the Diocese of Bendigo in 1998. Since then she has enjoyed a variety of ministry experience in rural and city communities.

In the Diocese of Melbourne she has been Associate Priest and Vicar. More recently, in the Diocese Adelaide, she enjoyed a Chaplaincy with Anglicare and the experience of being part of a ministry team in a large Adelaide Hills Parish.  She returned to Melbourne following the death of her husband, the Rev’d Christopher Pullin. Wendy enjoys living close to some of her children and grandchildren in Melbourne where she is a becoming a committed walker. She loves a challenge and is looking forward to walking the 790km Camino de Santiago in Spain.

Wendy is delighted to accept the invitation to be locum at St Paul’s and is looking forward to meeting and sharing life with the community.

A Message From Rev Susanne Chambers:

As many of you know, it is my tenth year…my discernment year as to whether I stay or extend my tenure. As I reflected on this past year, with my mum dying, my boys now left the nest, having bought our first home, I have been thinking about the next stage of Jonathan’s and my life together.

Decisions of huge life changes, don’t come easy. After much prayer I have decided to resign as Vicar of St Paul’s. My last Sunday will be Easter Day and I will then take what I am calling some Sabbatical leave to discern where or what God is calling me to do in this next part of my life.

I spoke with the Archbishop last Thursday and told him my decision. I also told him what a wonderful community of faith St Paul’s Canterbury is.

I have very mixed feelings …of joy of doing something new though I don’t know what that is yet, and of sadness and grief in leaving all of you.

As we continue to be together over the next two months, may we be gentle with ourselves…honest with our feelings and know that God is with each of us on all our journeys.
